hub and spoke groups

Dedicated to creating a growing grassroots network of people inspired to make the transition to Radical Decency, movement members participate in-person and in online Hub Groups – and deepen and extend their work through participation in online discussions groups.

Our movement's core building blocks, Hub Groups, consist of 8 to 12 friends and neighbors, guided by a trained Facilitator, who meet for 75 minutes — every other week — to enhance their Radical Decency/Relational skills.

We call them “Hub” groups as a constant reminder that to make lasting, transformative change in our lives and in the world, our works begins in our  “Hub” – with family and friends. But,  crucially, it also needs to radiate out into all of our life’s “Spokes”; that is, to our work and to all of our other communal and political involvements.

To join a Hub group, email us at info.thedecencygroup.com. We look forward to your joining us in doing this important life-affirming/life-changing work.

Spoke Groups

Hub Groups are friends and family. But to make "Radical" the shift to Decency, we have to instill these values in our jobs, professions, and other activities "out there, in the real world" as well. Otherwise, our old ways will inevitably invade and compromise these smaller islands of Decency we seek to create with family and friends – thus our SPOKE GROUPS.

What is Your Spoke Group?

It might be, by way of example: Your profession – nurse, lawyer, business person, health coach; or your chosen communal/religious home – Methodist, Quaker, Buddhist, Catholic; or your life’s vocational passion – Parenting, Environmental Justice, Direct Service/Community Building.

Like Hub Groups, our Spoke Groups are led by a trained Facilitator and meet every other week for 75 minutes.
